Amy Taylor, Founder
Hello, I’m Amy, the Tax Efficient Angel.
Because I’m passionate about numbers and saving money, I love my business. This brings out the best in me, and benefits my clients through tax savings and peace of mind. I am incredibly efficient and this is reflected in my working practices and interaction with clients.
I’ve had a passion for planning and figures since childhood, and have maintained a great fascination for numbers and mathematical conundrums into adulthood. I use the skills and knowledge I gained during my training to become a chartered accountant every day. This, plus my ability to grasp each of my clients’ unique set of business circumstances, helps me help them save money through efficient tax planning.
Until 2008, I worked for some of the UK’s top accountancy firms in London and the South East. However, my decision to launch my own accountancy business was based on my desire to spend more time with my children and to provide flexible accountancy services to other growing businesses.
I have a BA (Hons) degree in European Business with French and worked for several years in conference production and marketing until becoming a full-time mum in 2002.
I am now self-employed and work as Amy’s Executive Business Assistant. I assist with the planning and administration of the business with duties including client correspondence & invoicing and submitting clients’ accounting & taxation documents to HMRC & Companies House. I am married with 2 boys, aged 5 and 8 years and live in Hertfordshire.
I am a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) and have spent 18 years working in mainly blue chip/large multi-national companies. I have undertaken a number of different accountancy roles in this time, working as both a key member of the finance teams and also as an integrated member of the management teams of these businesses. I have specialist knowledge of accounting and cost control in manufacturing and supply chain environments, including IT system implementations and solutions. I am now enjoying the challenge of accountancy practice work, which fits much better with my family commitments.
I am a self employed sub-contractor who regularly undertakes work for Amy Taylor Accountancy, this work can be of a varied nature and includes year-end accounts, VAT returns, reconciliations and ad hoc items.
I live in Bedford and have 2 children aged 7 and 4. I enjoy family life, reading and swimming.
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997 with Deloitte in St Albans. I continued to work in their audit department until 2005 when I decided to take a career break following the birth of my second child. During my time at Deloitte I was responsible for managing the audits of companies, charities and NHS Trusts. I have also been a Treasurer to a local club and a local charity on a voluntary basis each for a period of 4 years.
I am now self employed and assist Amy in the production of year end accounts and tax returns. I have 3 children and live in Bedfordshire.
I am currently assisting Sara and Amy with trial balance production for our sole trader clients. My work experience to date includes working within Anglian Water Central Services as Assistant Accountant which ranged from preparation of monthly management accounts to preparation of budgets and forecasts.
I am a Chartered Management Accountant, with one child, living in Cambridgeshire.
